Walter Lan (蓝瑞龙) – Co-Founder , CEO

  • Our An award-winning visionary in film production, Walter Lan has shaped the creative landscape of Chinese cinema for over two decades. A graduate of the prestigious Beijing Film Academy, he is celebrated for balancing artistic integrity with mainstream appeal, delivering works that resonate deeply with audiences while achieving critical acclaim.
  • Walter rose to prominence with Green Grassland (2005), followed by the cult hit Crazy Stone (2006), which redefined Chinese black comedy. His landmark film Dying to Survive (2018) swept major Golden Horse Awards and ignited nationwide debate on social issues, securing its status as a modern Chinese cinema classic.
  • In recent years, Walter has expanded into digital streaming, producing acclaimed web series such as The Murder in Kairoutei (2022), showcasing his adaptability in the evolving entertainment landscape. Through AET, he channels his expertise into mentorship and education, inspiring young creatives to explore bold, globally relevant narratives.

Qin Yu (秦语) – Co-Founder, Executive Director

  • A multi-award winning writer, screenwriter, producer and educator, Qin Yu has built an illustrious career at the intersection of storytelling and education. With over 20 years in leading media and cultural institutions including NetEase, Phoenix TV and CCTV, she is widely recognized as a thought leader in film and television content creation. She is also an active member of the China Film Association and serves on the Television Art Committee of the China Radio and Television Association.
  • Qin’s work ranges from bestselling novels (Who Dares in Destiny, The Green Crossbow, Love from Afar) to acclaimed films (Ice Poison, Letters from the South) featured at major festivals in Busan, Rotterdam, and Edinburgh. She has collaborated with renowned directors including Midi Zhao, Tsai Ming-liang, and Royston Tan, earning recognition for narratives.
  • In education, Qin has pioneered innovative filmmaking bootcamps for high school students, blending hands-on production with cultural immersion in destinations like Dubai, Tibet, and Yunnan. Her students’ works have won awards at prestigious film festivals, validating her “school without walls” philosophy. She also serves as a mentor and jury member at student film festivals and lectures at institutions such as Beijing Normal University Experimental School and Keystone Academy. Through AET, she develops curricula that fuse creativity, critical thinking, and global awareness, preparing the next generation of filmmakers to tell stories that resonate worldwide.

Melvyn Goh (吴文贵) – Co-Founder

  • Melvyn is a seasoned leader whose career spans Hong Kong, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Singapore. Former CEO of Forbes China and Harvard Business Review China, he has led billion-dollar operations and was named Agency Head (CEO) of the Year by Campaign Asia. At AET, he drives strategy, marketing & partnerships. His contributions include having served on the Committee of the WPP School of Marketing and Communications in Shanghai, where he co developed a 13-module curriculum and founded the Stanford University–Media Development Authority Scholarship.
  • He is also a recipient of the Leadership Scholarship at Singapore Management University, the Dean’s Graduate Fellowship at New York University, and the Media Education Scheme Award from the Media Development Authority of Singapore.
